A Family-Friendly Fall Weekend Awaits at The Ramble Festival

Make family memories in Harford County with live music, outdoor adventures, & kids activities

By The Ramble Festival September 30, 2026

Looking for a different kind of family weekend this fall? From October 9–11, The Ramble Festival will bring three days of live music, camping, outdoor fun and community to Camp Ramblewood in Darlington.

Set across more than 200 acres of wooded campgrounds in Harford County, The Ramble gives families a chance to unplug, explore, listen to great music and experience a festival that feels a little different from the typical large-scale event.

What is The Ramble Festival?

The Ramble is a three-day music and community festival built around live music, the outdoors and bringing people together. While music is at the heart of the weekend, the experience is about much more than watching bands.

Camp Ramblewood offers wooded trails, cabins, camping areas and gathering spaces throughout the property. Instead of arriving for a show and heading home, families can settle in, explore the grounds and spend the weekend together.

That community-focused approach has been part of The Ramble since its beginning. Five years in, the festival has grown while holding onto the intimate, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel more like a shared weekend experience than a traditional concert.

And for local families, it's happening right here in Harford County.

What can families expect?

Music is at the heart of the weekend, with multiple stages featuring artists across funk, jam, bluegrass, roots and more. The 2026 lineup includes Lettuce, Ripe, Kitchen Dwellers, Big Something, Clay Street Unit and many more.

But there's plenty happening away from the main stages, too.

Families can camp, explore the grounds, check out local food and artisan vendors, enjoy workshops and outdoor activities, and discover the unexpected moments that pop up around Camp Ramblewood.

One of the things that makes The Ramble unique is that the experience isn't confined to a stage. Musicians often stick around for the weekend, collaborate with other artists and take in the festival alongside attendees. That can mean anything from a surprise sit-in to an impromptu musical moment around camp.

For families who want to make a full weekend of it, tent camping is included with weekend passes, with additional accommodations including cabins and glamping available.

What family-focused and kids activities are available?

The Ramble is designed to welcome the whole family, including its youngest attendees.

Kids Kove offers activities specifically for kids, while second line parades and special kids sets on Saturday and Sunday give young Ramblers their own opportunities to get involved in the festival.

Children 12 and under attend for free with a complimentary kids pass, and discounted Teen Passes are available for ages 13–17.

Beyond the dedicated kids programming, Camp Ramblewood itself gives families plenty of room to wander, play and enjoy the outdoors between sets.

The result is a weekend where parents can enjoy live music while kids have their own spaces, activities and experiences to discover.
